Gluten Free Puff Pastry Pizza Whirls
Puff pastry treats are something that it’s always difficult to get gluten free. Personally I’m a big fan of the gluten free JusRol pastry. It’s pre-rolled, so easy to use and makes delicious puff pastry. Did you know that it’s dairy free too!? This is starting to sound a little like a JusRol advert but it’s not, and if you have your own puff pastry recipe you could use that too.
I’ve made tons of different things using JusRol puff pastry, including vegan sausage rolls and sausage plaits, nutella pastry puffs and Halloween ‘mummy’ hands. But this easy recipe for puff pastry pizza whirls might just be my favourite yet.
They could not be easier to make so would be a great one to make with the kids. They have all the flavours of a pizza in a compact, snack size treat.

Ingredients
1 sheet of gluten free puff pastry (I use JusRol)
3-4 tbsp tomato puree
Grated cheese (or dairy free alternative)
1 beaten egg (or dairy free milk for a vegan alternative)
Oregano
Salt and pepper
Any other pizza toppings you fancy! (I used quorn pepperoni)
Method
Pre-heat the oven to 190°C.
Lay the sheet of puff pastry out flat, and brush with beaten egg (if using) or dairy free milk.
Spread the tomato puree over the pastry.
Season with plenty of oregano, and a little salt and pepper.
Top with grated cheese and whatever other pizza toppings you fancy.
Gently roll the puff pastry into a log from the short end. Brush the log with a little more beaten egg or dairy free milk, then cut widthways into 6 pieces.
Put the swirls on a baking tray with a swirly side up.
Cook for 15-18 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.
